Promises Made Under Fire

First of all I'm not big on historical books, but this being m/m thought would give it a go.
This book surprised me, it kept me captivated wanting to find out what happened next, it wasn't an exciting or an erotic book at all, but held your attention.
It's set in ww1, but is not heavy in war talk, it was more about relationships. When a comrade is killed, he requests his friend visit his mum, and wife. Upon his journey to fulfil his commitment he learns the truth, and can finally share who he really is even if in coded language.
A warm and intriguing story for a Sunday afternoon.
**i received thus book from the publishers va netgalley for an honest review**
