Annabelle is horrible, just horrid, she turns people and uses them as servants. She tortures and abuses them in any way she can, if you really want to read about a horrid female vamp, meet annabelle.Chester, apparently known as Sang in later books, is a humble young man dragged away from his family and turned, and this is his story.
I liked Chester, I liked him even more when he met Cain, but there relationship was never going to go too far with Annabelle around.
If I'm honest, I found annabelle too horrid, and I was constantly worried what she'd do next, let me say the last card she played hurt!
At times I felt it could flow better and there was may be too much talk of bakiing pie and sewing.
I understand this a prequel so we can understand Sang in later books, I checked out other books and they seem much lighter.
I've rated this book 3 ~ 3.5 stars, mainly due to me not liking things too dark, I don't do horrors, I'm too Squimish, if you like yours dark with totally evil vampire mistress, this is for you.
